Why did you choose to join the board of directors for TeamConnor Childhood Cancer Foundation?

The fragility of life came into laser focus for me the day I learned of Connor’s diagnosis. No longer was childhood cancer something I read about or heard others discussing from a distance. Through my college roommate and dear friend of over 30 years, Joy Cruse, childhood cancer suddenly hit very close to home. It was impossible to shake the feeling of helplessness as someone close to me suffered so deeply. No parent should have the burden of outliving their own child, yet everyday cancer takes the most innocent among us leaving families wondering how such a horrible disease can continue without a cure. TeamConnor’s voice has empowered families in this fight and I am proud to help support its goal of defeating childhood cancer.

What is childhood cancer research and raising funds for childhood cancer funding important to you?

Nothing is more important to me than my four children. Working to protect them and prevent other families from the devastating effects of childhood cancer is a core mission I want to more actively support through research funding. TeamConnor is a beam of light and a symbol of hope to families searching for answers to questions they hoped to never have to ask.

Thank you, Cynthia for joining TeamConnor as a leadership volunteer as we work together to beat childhood cancer!
