He has extensive civil litigation background in a number of practice areas including insurance defense litigation, personal injury, construction defect, premises liability, and construction accidents with experience in taking cases from inception through judgment as well as resolving difficult and complex claims pre-litigation. John has assisted developers and other private clients by drafting and negotiating transactional documents, as well as drafting contracts to minimize and avoid the litigation risks.

John practices in both State and Federal Court. He is experienced in handling complex construction defect matters and has represented a diverse section of the construction industry including owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors involving commercial property, single-family homes, condominium developments, and residential development projects.

John is an experienced litigator in personal injury and premises liability matters, often handling significant exposure general liability claims, and has a further defined background in trucking accidents. John has also litigated matters involving business transactions, real estate, homeowner association disputes, federal discrimination claims, and property law disputes.

Prior to working in litigation, John worked at the San Diego Superior Court as an intern for the honorable E. Mac Amos Jr. assisting with the Court’s business litigation law and motion calendar. He also spent time as an intern at San Diego City Attorney’s office in dispute resolution.

John grew up in California and studied at the University of Southern California and San Diego Mesa College where he consistently made the honor roll at both schools. John went on to study law at Thomas Jefferson School of law where he received highest grade honors in Remedies, Property Law, Constitutional Law, and Contracts and then graduated cum laude at the top of his class.
