Cheri King-Boyd

Paralegal

Cheri (pronounced “cherry”) joined Team Tarle in December 2020 and has been a paralegal for 20 years with her focus on civil litigation, personal injury, bankruptcy and school/municipality law with an added emphasis on trial preparation and attendance. She is a “get-er-done” kinda gal, who believes in a strong work ethic.

Cheri graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She then immediately moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she taught middle school English for 11 years. In the evening, she volunteered her time to teach English to non-speaking parents so that they could better assist their children with their schoolwork.

Cheri continued her education and obtained her Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Texas and continued with her graduate work toward her Doctorate in Education Administration.

Cheri’s desire to see people succeed and to help them get there transfers over to her work in the legal profession as well.

She has served on the Board of the Children’s Guidance Center in Grayson County, Texas. She has also served on the Board of the Girl Scouts of Grayson County, Texas along with serving a two-year term as a City Council Woman in the town of Whitewright, Texas. Cheri was the longtime song leader for the Noon Rotary Club in Sherman, Texas where she became acquainted with numerous attorneys in the region along with State and Federal Judges for the Eastern District of Texas.

Cheri was also very active in the local community theatre, “The Sherman Community Players”, where she won numerous awards for her acting/singing both on the local and state level.

Cheri comes from a very musically talented family and as such, she has managed her own band, The Cheri King Band, for many years. Cheri is married to Mike Boyd, who is also a professional musician who has toured the world with and opened for main acts. Cheri has two older sons, Daniel and Sam, both of whom are likewise very musically talented.

Cheri was raised in the country with horses and cattle and as such, she also manages Cheri Creek Farms, LLC which is a hay and cattle operation in North Texas.

Cheri is also very active in her small country church and is often called upon to lead the singing on Sunday mornings. In the past, she has been a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director in her church for many years.
